Blog Day 8 HCMC

I woke up at 7:15 AM after a short night, ate a little croissant at breakfast, and then joined the group on the road to Cargill.
We received an informative presentation about Cargill in Vietnam and their sustainability activities. Cargill highlighted how they support local communities by building schools across the country, which was inspiring. Around noon, we enjoyed a delicious Vietnamese lunch provided by Cargill. Afterward, we went on a tour of their production processes and R&D lab. It was impressive to see how advanced their operations are. They demonstrated how ingredients are carefully mixed to create animal feed, and we even got to see an impressive robot that places heavy bags of feed onto pallets with precision. Towards the end of the tour we went to the r&d lap, where Cargill showed us how they test their samples.
The ride back to the hotel took about two hours, and we arrived at 5:30 PM.
After returning back to the hotel, Abdul entertained us by showing off his talent for making gun and car sounds with his mouth. It was funny to see how many sounds he was able to create.
Later, a group of us took a cab and went shopping for football shirts on a sketchy street in Ho Chi Minh City. The locals seemed surprised to see tourists in their neighborhood. However, the football shirts were unique and incredibly cheap, making the trip well worth it.
In the evening, we went with a big group for dinner at a Korean all-you-can-eat BBQ. Caj was so hungry that he ordered everything on the menu. Before the food arrived, Robin lost a bet to Caj and had to eat half a spoonful of hot pepper sauce, which made everyone burst out laughing. The food was delicious and cheap compared to prices in europe.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel for a quick card game where Bjorn lost 3 out of the 4 games. Wrapping up a day filled with learning, fun, and laughter.
