In the first 6 weeks prior to the trip abroad, the students attend classes and make assignments at the University of Twente to prepare for the study tour. During these 6 weeks in the Netherlands, companies are visited and Dutch companies give guest lectures and cases to the students. In this way, a comparison can be made in the end between companies in the Netherlands and companies in the country to be visited. This period is also focused on training interviewing skills and learning about the culture of Vietnam.

After the preparation phase, the students go to abroad to conduct research on the central theme by means of company visits and interviews with companies. Companies are visited and interviewed in order to find answers on the research questions and to gain new insights for the research. During the study tour, approximately 15 companies are visited.

Finally, the last 2 weeks will be utilized to conclude the research and set up a final report. The different reports from the groups will be combined into one book.

Central Theme

Every year, it is the task of the study tour committee to choose the subject and the destination for the study tour. The research question of this year is still yet to be decided upon. It will include the different SDG’s.

Sustainable Development Goals

The four chosen SDG’s on which the students will focus on are soon to be announced.

Each group will focus on one of these three SDG’s and will conduct research on the specific SDG in regards to the central theme of this year

Destination

Vietnam is chosen as the destination of the study tour because of the difference in culture with the Netherlands. Furthermore, we believe that this country will be able to give us quality results for our research.
