Hi there!
The first blog post will be a general introduction to the concept of the Study Tour minor module of International Business Administration & Industrial Engineering and Management.
We (the Study Tour committee) are very excited to show you our hard work and present to you what the study tour will be about. First, we would like to introduce ourselves. We are six third year IEM students from different backgrounds coming together to organize this year’s Study Tour, and we hope everyone participating wil have a fun learning experience starting November.
The study tour follows a 10 week structure, where each student can earn 15 EC by successfully completing the module. During the first 6 weeks of the module, the students will learn about Singapore and Malaysia and subjects about the PESTEL framework. They will also learn about the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’S) for businesses. More information about the SDGs and how they are present in the module will be in the second post! After the pre-work in the Netherlands the students will bring theory into practice in Singapore and Malaysia where they will perform interviews at companies to get an idea on the ways these companies focus on sustainability and the SDGs. Finally, the students will present their findings in an end report and symposium, where everybody is invited.
We hope that this short introduction gets you as excited as we are.
Next Blog will be about the Sustainable Development goals, see you then!
