Blog Day 9 HCMC

A new day began in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the final full day in HCMC. The early breakfast club (which has been reduced to 4 people over the last couple of days) kicked off the day. With the other people joining afterwards.

Then we went to Upgreen Vietnam where we had a nice presentation. However, the person really wanted to go to the plant and it should be known that the trash in Vietnam does not come from Vietnam but from Europe, as she was pointing at us.

We finished early so we went to a place that the women of the company showed us. The bare ass whole chickens did scare some of the group to go somewhere else. A few hardcore people did try it, but we do not know yet if they will get sick. Another part of the group went to a cafe bistro, where the waiter didn’t speak English, but did laugh it off like he did.

On the bus to Nedspice, our ears were blessed by some hits from Twente, such as the way undervalued “IJsberen in het Noorden”, which seemed to make Guus a lot happier than om the boat on Sunday.

We arrived at Nedspice, where we were blessed with a nice smell for the first time since this trip.

When the visit ended, the weather took a turn that made us feel quite at home. It rained. While we where blessed with Peer and Twan’s rendition of its raining men, or as Peer would say: het regent man.

After a long bus ride home, we went to the Terraviva restaurant, which is apparently very popular among our study group. (Note from Mare: because it is amazing and it deserves all the love).

We learned something new there. It is prohibited to play cards in an Italian restaurant. It is because the owners then think that you are gambling at a public place, and that is illegal. The relationship with the owner took a little turn. However, in the end he forgave us, which he had to because he got a lot of money from all the times we went there.

After we had a lovely dinner, we ordered some dessert. However, we were in for a big surprise. The waiter dropped hot coffee on Abdos leg. He barely survived the incident. It was very traumatizing for him. However, the dessert compensated for it.

After a long day, we finally got back to the hotel to get some well deserved rest. Overall, the experience in Ho Chi Minh was fascinating and we look forward to going to Hanoi.
